One year ago, I stood on a hillside in TeteBatu, Lombok, surrounded by cascading rice terraces and the distant silhouette of Mount Rinjani. There was nothing there but wild grass, a few coconut palms, and a view that took my breath away. I thought we can’t let this slide without creating an experience for you, the guest to spend some time in this breathtaking landscape to feel what I now feel on a daily basis. Pure bliss.
Why We Chose Lombok
Everyone knows Bali. But Lombok? Lombok is Bali 30 years ago — before the traffic, before the crowds, before the Instagram queues at every sunset spot.
Here, you can still:
- Wake up to birdsong, not motorbikes
- Walk through rice terraces without seeing another tourist
- Have a beach entirely to yourself (yes, really)

Here’s the truth: I stayed at every “luxury” hotel in Lombok during the research phase. They were… fine. Nice pools. Comfortable beds. Instagrammable infinity pools.
But they all had walls.
Walls between you and the sound of geckos at night. Walls between you and the morning mist rolling through the valley. Walls between you and the reason you came to Indonesia in the first place — nature.
Glamping removes the walls.
You fall asleep to the sound of rain on canvas. You wake up to sunlight filtering through the trees. You shower under the open sky (with hot water and privacy, don’t worry). But you’re there. Really there.

Our team is entirely local — skilled craftsmen from TeteBatu and surrounding villages who know this land intimately. Our chef grew up farming these rice terraces. Our guide has summited Rinjani over 200 times.
